Arlington, Va, January 24, 2012 — IBM and StopWaste.Org will share their experiences with reusables as part of the Reusable Packaging Association education conference at MODEX on Feb. 6.

The Association is hosting a conference titled, “Reusable Packaging – Efficient, Cost Effective and Sustainable Solutions for Today’s Supply Chains”. Newly-announced speakers for the conference are Sharon T. Spaulding of IBM who will share the company’s experience in using reusable solutions to send mainframe computers to their customers; and Janet Smarte of StopWaste.Org who will speak on corporate responsibility and the need for businesses to make the switch from expendable to reusable packaging. The speakers are part of the RPA’s three-hour program scheduled for Monday, February 6, 2012 from 1 to 4 p.m. The program is designed to help those who are new to reusable packaging as well as those who have already incorporated reusable strategies to make more informed decisions about the broad range of transport packaging solutions available to help them improve their supply chain operations.

Previously announced presenters are:

• Bob Klimko, Director of Marketing, ORBIS Corporation and Chairman of the RPA Education Committee
• Paul Koleske, Vice President, Logistics, TOSCA Ltd.
• Keith Schall, Director of Business Systems and Technology, Container and Pooling Solutions, Inc.

These speakers will cover topics including:
• Reusable packaging and its beneficial impact on operations
• Assessing the opportunities for reusable solutions
• Financial implications of developing and managing a reusable packaging system
• Successfully preparing for and managing the change in business operations
• Best practices for managing reusable packaging assets

A roundtable discussion will complete the day’s agenda. Following the conference, there will be a networking reception with refreshments.
